Speaker: Jajang Nurjaman (Senior Archivist, Arsip Nasional Republik Indonesia)

As part of the MUSEUM FORWARD 2025 programme, senior archivist Jajang Nurjaman is contributing his expertise through a collaboration with Museum Perkebunan Indonesia, Medan.
In this session, he will share insights and hands-on lessons from his work with the museum team, focusing on the preservation of the Dactyloscopy Archives, a rare collection of fingerprint records documenting plantation workers in Sumatra during the colonial era (1921–1945). His presentation will deepen participants’ understanding of effective archiving practices and highlight the essential role of safeguarding historical records for ongoing research and future generations.
About The Speakers Jajang Nurjaman is an Archivist at Arsip Nasional Republik Indonesia (The National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia). He completed his postgraduate studies at Leiden University in the Netherlands, where he majored in History and specialized in Archival Studies. He is also…
